Wickes set up business in Threadneedle Street in the City of London in 1722; the company moved to Panton Street off Haymarket in central London in 1735 as a silversmith and provider of jewellery and other luxury items to aristocratic patrons. </span></div><div id="bodyContent0" style="color: #f3f3f3;"></div><div id="bodyContent0" style="color: white;"><span style="color: #f3f3f3; font-family: Arial; font-size: 11px;"> </span><span style="color: #f3f3f3;"> </span><br /><div style="color: black; text-align: left;"><span style="color: #f3f3f3; font-family: Arial; font-size: 11px;">In 1843, Queen Victoria appointed Garrard to the position of Crown Jewellers, a warrant that it has held ever since, leading to the production of numerous pieces of silverware and jewellery for the Royal Family, as well as the upkeep of the Crown Jewels. The grade D color diamond measures 39.90 × 50.50 ×  24.55 mm and it has 247 facets – 164 on the stone and 83 around its  girdle. It bears the Centenary Diamond name as it was presented before  the Centennial Celebration of De Beers Consolidated Mines on May 11,  1988.
